The "My Computer" folder doesn't show up in the start menu and in windows explorer. After I push windows button+E The drives don't show either. I know its probably a register problem but don't know were exactly to fix this. Please who can help me out. My operating system is Windows 7 32 bit.

I Wish it was like easy as that, but the problem is "Computer" doesn't show up anywhere, not in the start menu nor in the context menus. So also not in the customize start menu. The other user on my laptop doesn't have this problem. It must be an registry entry that has been changed in HKEY_current_user\software\ Microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\explorer. I dont know what entrees there are right and with what values?

One way to fix it is to create a new account, see if the problem is fixed. If so copy all data from the old, corrupted account to the new account, use it for a while until you're satisfied it's okay then delete the old account and files. Also, on my Win 7 Pro X64 system, that key has these entries in it: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "NoDriveTypeAutoRun"=dword:00000091 "NoStartMenuMorePrograms"=dword:00000001 "ForceClassicControlPanel"=dword:00000001 I believe the last two were added by me at one time or anther while tweaking my system.Rich Why can't I be different and original like everybody else? - Vivian Stanshal

You may try System Restore to restore to a previous version. Also you can try sfc /scannow to check and repair system components.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Thanks Guys for your prompt responses. I thought by my self last night about opening a new account, so I did today. Its to much trouble to try to fix it in the registry. Thanks again.
